Each part of the Demco Wedge product platform has been carefully engineered to allow for multiple options in automation execution as well as manufactured with the finest materials and components.
Our patented technology starts with the Wedge station, a pie-shaped aluminum tooling plate with an on-board controls box that includes a controller, wiring, valve manifold, and input blocks. Note the precision tooling of pinning, tapping and key holes designed to align with docking stations on the base Wedge chassis platforms. Wedge stations are available untooled so that you can add your own tooling, or choose from one of our many pre-tooled models from inventory such as pick and place, adhesive dispense, vision, and marking to name a few. We use only the best components from manufacturers such as Meto-Fer, SMC, Dymax, DVT, and Technifor.
Wedge stations can operate alone as a tabletop station by simply providing power and air, or can be plugged into a base Wedge chassis to operate in a manual, semi-automatic, or automatic mode. Base Wedge chassis platforms include manual benchtop, rotary dial, in-line, and walking beam and come complete with power, controls, air, and electrical distribution imbedded into the top panels of the chassis. All wiring is clean, furrelled, and labeled. All Demco Wedge products have complete documentation and operating instructions.
Our base chassis feature 3” welded steel frame base construction and 1” thick blanchard steel tabletops for maximum durability and robustness. Controls, indexers, in-line conveyors, and feeders come from such quality names as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Camco, Bosch, and FMC.
Demco Wedge products are operator friendly and easy to maintain.
There is little to no learning curve with programming or operating products in the Demco Wedge product family. Our engineers have spent thousands of hours designing the mechanical, electrical/controls, and software components of our machines to make them as intuitive as possible for the operator.
Our proprietary Windows ® -based PLC programming utility optimizes ease of PLC programming as well as machine debugging and operation. Wedge stations are programmed by simply checking boxes on a PC screen for a sequence of designated inputs and outputs to configure the Wedge station for your needs.
Tooled Wedge stations slide and lock in place on the base Wedge chassis, and are put in play via a single connection (that contains power, communication, and air) to the chassis. Full access to a Wedge station is easy. Simply slide the Wedge station out of the base chassis onto a maintenance cart, and maintenance and troubleshooting are a breeze.
